When a trench has to go through a road, a yard or a hardstand, the road saw is what does it. Ours cuts 340 mm deep in a single pass and it cuts straight, so the reinstatement afterwards is a tidy job rather than a patch.
Most road sawing calls are urgent. Somebody has hit concrete they did not expect, or a service has to be in the ground before the end of the week and the digger is sitting there. Tell us where you are and what depth you are after and we will tell you when we can be on site.
When you need it
These are the situations that put our number into somebody's hand. If yours is not on the list, ring anyway and we will tell you straight whether it is us you want.
- A trench for water, power, data or drainage has to cross an existing road, yard or car park.
- A service run has to come through a hardstand and the crew cannot dig until it is cut.
- Potholes or failed patches have to come out square before new concrete or asphalt goes in.
- A slab or apron is being removed and needs cutting into liftable pieces.
- The cut has to be deep and the saw already on site will not reach it.
- The work has to happen at night or between shifts so traffic or production keeps moving.

Have this ready
None of it is compulsory. It is just the difference between one visit and two.
- The line, and the name of whoever has authority to sign it off.
- What is under the cut. Services, ducting or a live drain change the plan and are far cheaper to find now.
- Your traffic management, if the cut is on a live road or in a working yard.
- Access for a truck and trailer, plus water and somewhere for the slurry.
- The depth you need, so the right saw is on the truck the first time.
How we do it
The kit is named after what it does. The order matters more than the brand on the side of it.
- Set out with you before anything starts, from plans or a marked line on the ground, confirmed with whoever is signing it off.
- Work to your traffic management on a live road or in a working yard. We will not start cutting until it is in place.
- Cut wet, so the blade stays cool, the dust stays down and the cut stays straight over a long run.
- Slurry caught with a slurry vac and taken away, rather than run into your stormwater or across the yard.
- Break out and cart off the cut sections if you want the trench cleared, or leave it cut and clean for your digger.
- Work nights and after hours where a day shut is not possible.

What we get asked
How deep can your road saw cut?
340 mm in a single pass, which covers most road, yard and hardstand slabs in this region. If your slab is thicker, ring and give us the number before you book anyone.
Can you cut asphalt as well as concrete?
Yes. The road saw cuts asphalt, concrete and reinforced yard slabs, and we change the blade to suit the material rather than forcing one blade through everything.
Do you work at night?
Yes. A lot of road and yard cutting has to happen after hours so traffic or production keeps running, and we do night work regularly. Tell us the window and we will work to it.
Can you take the concrete away as well as cut it?
Yes. We break out and remove the cut sections and leave the trench clean, or we leave it cut for your digger, whichever suits your programme.
What happens to the cutting slurry?
It goes into a slurry vac and off site with us. Cutting water does not go into your stormwater or across the yard.
Can you take potholes out of a yard or driveway?
Yes. We cut the failed area out square, break it out and cart it away so a clean patch can go back in, on commercial yards and residential driveways alike.
