Concrete pumping for tight access
A line pump reaches where a truck pump cannot. Tight sites, bad access and expensive pours.
We run a line pump, not a truck pump. The concrete goes down a hose along the ground instead of over a boom, so it can go through a gate, around the side of a house, over a fence or into a building where a truck simply cannot reach.
It runs to 100 metres of line, and small pours are welcome. A back garden slab, a shed floor, a set of footings behind the house: the pours that are awkward for a big pump are exactly what this is built for. Got a job coming up with tight access? That is the call to make.
When you need it
These are the situations that put our number into somebody's hand. If yours is not on the list, ring anyway and we will tell you straight whether it is us you want.
- The truck cannot get near the pour and barrowing it would take all morning.
- The pour is behind the house, up a drive, or inside a building.
- The site is tight or soft, or there is a fence, a gate or new landscaping in the way.
- It is a small pour and you do not want to book something enormous for it.
- Footings, a shed floor, a patio or a path that needs feeding steadily rather than in barrow loads.
- You are pouring and cutting the same slab and would rather deal with one contractor.

100 m is what our line pump will push. Reach on the day depends on the mix, the rise and the number of bends, so tell us the site and we will be straight with you.
Have this ready
None of it is compulsory. It is just the difference between one visit and two.
- Photos of the access, or five minutes on site with us beforehand.
- Your concrete booked, with the mix, the volume and the time the truck is coming.
- The boxing done and the steel in, so the pour is not waiting on us and we are not waiting on it.
- Somewhere for wash out, agreed before we start.
- Your placing and finishing crew organised, or tell us and we will talk you through what is needed.
How we do it
The kit is named after what it does. The order matters more than the brand on the side of it.
- Look at the access first, either on site or from a photo you text us, so the line is planned before the truck turns up.
- Park where we are not in anybody's way, run the lines out, and keep the pour moving.
- Pump, then clean out properly. Wash out is agreed before we start, not improvised in your garden.
- Cut the slab when it is ready, if it needs cutting, so it is one contractor rather than two.
- Leave the site clean. Concrete on a driveway sets just as hard as concrete in the boxing.

What we get asked
What is the difference between a line pump and a truck pump?
A truck pump reaches over the top of a site on a boom. A line pump pushes the concrete down a hose along the ground, so it can go through a gate, around a house or into a building where a boom cannot reach. Ours runs to 100 metres of line.
How far can you pump?
Up to 100 metres of line. What is realistic on the day depends on the mix, how far up you are going and how many bends there are, so send us the site and we will tell you plainly.
Do you take small pours?
Yes. Small and awkward pours are exactly what a line pump suits, and we would far rather do the small one than turn it away.
Do you place and finish the concrete as well?
We pump it, and we cut it once it is ready. Placing and finishing is a specialist crew's job and we work alongside them rather than pretending otherwise.
Can you pump inside a building or through tight access?
Yes, that is the whole point of a line pump. Through a gate, around the side of a house, over a fence, up a drive or inside a building, as long as there is a path for the line.
